Casa Universitaria del Libro (University House of Books) was inaugurated on February 10th, 2011 by the former Rector Jesus Ancer Rodriguez, as a Secretary of Extension and Culture Rogelio Villarreal and as Director/Founder Jose Garza Acuña, becoming the headquarters of the University Editorial House. This valued university cultural center, considered a historical monument by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), is located in Padre Mier corner with Vallarta, Downtown Monterrey, México.
Casa Universitaria del Libro concentrates the diffusion activity and promotion of University Editorial House materials and it constitutes a specialized compound in editorial production. As cultural center it looks to spread culture, promote book production, reading, literature, creativity and imagination, so it may get people closer to the intellectual and artistic University’s products, in order to increase “the knowledge and sensitivity as weapons for a community without aggressions, close to peace and dialogue”.
We are located on 909 Padre Mier Street, corner with Vallarta, Downtown Monterrey. We are open Monday to Friday from 10 to 19 hrs., and on event Sundays from 10 to 14 hrs.
